
Assessing drupal
In some ways, the comparison is to discuss how HP vs. Lenovo vs. Dell for a laptop - will all perform the basic functions you need. There is support, experience, talent you have (or not), which often affect your decision. Alledia is a Joomla SEO services company, but they were very fair in the assessment of Drupal - and its adoption this year. They published a comparison in December, as it seems, compares the current version of Drupal, the newly released alpha version 1.6 of Joomla.

In education, there are many good examples - that are available when I find the most Educause is a set of core activities - community / social networking, content distribution, and few familiar with external knowledge.

From an Open Source perspective, I see future growth, but for the company, Microsoft SharePoint 2010 will be published - but it will have its proponents and opponents - to another product as a "new face had received" and recognize Gartner solution from Oracle and giveng the high praise - Universal Content Management - which, if accepted in a number of other products from Oracle SharePoint, there is a run for your money - and far beyond it - if you're a PeopleSoft School.
Finally, two more at the enterprise level (not open source) solutions that promise a lot, show, Blackbaud's NetCommunity - Not Web CMS per se, but with a number of other CRM models and campus management suite of integrated solutions. I have not iumplement, but spent some time with each supplier on the Educause and came away impressed.
